Best of British Gifts Subscription Box/ Blog
A Best of British gift Subscription Box.
We like the idea of putting different British Designers and makers all in one gift box.
It is our aim to provide an excellent gift subscription experience and provide value for money.
Our research indicates that gift subscriptions are rising in popularity and we have great satisfaction in sourcing goods from the length and breadth of the UK.
What makes a Subscription Box the 'best monthly gift subscription box', and what you should expect for your money?
A box who's content far outweighs the cost if the contents are bought separately
Consistently high quality items, that are regularly changing to keep the element of suprise. The ' WOW ' factor ! You want the recipient to be overwhelmed by not just the quality and amount of the contents, but the presentation too.
Full sized products, so no sample sized items or items that are being given free to the subscription service for promotional reasons.
Quick, consist, regular delivery in All recyclable packaging, and that is a given in this day and age so don' expect anything less.
Amazing customer service, with an easy to use checkout service on the website.
If possible ( as we do ) all products and packaging designed and sourced in Britain, lets support our local business and makers.
Safe and secure website and data including secure payment processing
If required, a personal touch such as hand written greetings cards in the subscription box ( it's not hard to do )
Securely wrapped items, or as we do individually wrapped items in different styles of locally sourced tissue paper
No annoying and over regular marketing emails to try and up sell you ( now that's just annoying )
A company that gives back a little, we work with local charities and businesses and only offer British designed and made gifts
A selection of well known brands and new exciting brands, you may just find that favourite maker next month
Our journey began with a £10 subscription box which is great value for money but does limit us to the larger suppliers. It is our vision to include more artisans in our product range and this might elevate our costs slightly.
we are looking at companies which have a social conscience
Myddfai Trading Company Limited
is a social enterprise. They were incorporated in 2010. Their mission is to provide employment and volunteering opportunities within the local community. Their profits are to be used for rural regeneration within the surrounding area. They work closely with the Coastal Project and College Elydir in nearby Rhandirmwyn to provide work experience for adults with learning difficulties
Roelofs and Rubens Handmade Ceramics
I love this company and plan to incorporate their items in our gift subscription.
Established in 2006 by Hampshire based designer Piet van den Beuken and her husband, Monty Abram, Roelofs & Rubens is a successful supplier of handmade and hand decorated blue and white (and colour) ceramic hanging decorations.
Piet studied Architectural Design at St Joost Academy of Art Breda and Graphic Design at the Rietveld Academy of Art Amsterdam. Through her own love of ceramics, she discovered a gap in the market for something that was both contemporary in design and beautifully unique.
Being Dutch, Piet admits that the much-loved Delft Blue of Holland holds a special place in her heart and has influenced her to work with the distinctive blue and white palette, ‘Our fabulous decoration collections are all handmade and hand decorated to an excellent standard. The striking blue and white colour scheme will complement your home whilst our original and exciting designs bring a fresh look’.
Roelofs & Rubens ceramic decorations can be mixed and matched with each other and work perfectly in any interior. They make beautiful keepsake gifts for all occasions, or as a treat for yourself or someone special. New shapes and unique designs are frequently added to the range and Piet loves to experiment with painting techniques, to produce stencils and stamps. Working with a small team from their Hampshire Studio, the range has grown and now includes a much loved Christmas Collection and a Bespoke Collection that celebrates famous landmarks, buildings and many other places of interest.
Where it’s made
They are based in Berkshire, in a lovely home studio surrounded by countryside. Their kiln is housed in the ‘Firing Garage’ next to the house.

The Bath House shop uk
Bath House is a fragrance and natural skincare brand founded in 1997 by a creative team of artists and designers who live and work in the Lake District.
Passionate about art, design and poetry, they sought inspiration in the beauty of nature and from their personal experiences and emotions. They bring this to life in the form of fragrances and skincare infused with evocative aromas and pure ingredients. Their recipe is a blend of passion, nature, artistic creativity and artisan production.
Bath House began as an artistic collaboration, created from humble beginnings. The kitchen cooker was their lab, the table their design studio. They experimented with the world of fragrance and explored ways in which to harness the gentle healing power of natural ingredients. They were keen to learn from experts and began working with a small number of fragrance creators and skincare formulators who helped them with their specialist knowledge. Everything they made was packaged with care and meticulous attention to detail, teaching themselves as they went along, always focusing on high standards.
Bath House shop uk products will also be appearing in our subscription boxes.
